RECORDING

"Spered Fest" (spirit of celebration) is the first CD recorded by « Bagad ar Meilhoù Glaz (Moulin-Vert – Quimper) ». It was recorded from November 1995 to February 1996 in the Atelier Régional Cinématographique studios in Quimper. It is produced by Editions Pluriel and distributed by Sony Music - France. The bagad’s 1992-1995 repertoire is recorded on the disc. The music was originally composed for the National Bagad Championships, the traditional airs of which are accompanied by several friend-musicians:

  • Kurun trio: Yann Cariou (flute), Jean-François Le Coz (bombarde), and Rolan Conq (guitar). Kurun trio is a group that draws its energy essentially from the repertoires of traditional pipers and singers. It specializes in playing music for festoù-noz (night festivals). • Singer-Dancers : Alan Pierre and Raymond Le Lann

Many thanks to Yvon Etienne, Dédé Le Meut, to all our «informers» and friend-musicians who shared their passion and knowledge with us. We’d like to mention those pipers and drummers who could not participate in the recordings, the «restauration» team, and all of our friends who helped us make this disc.
